ACTS
The continued Life of Jesus through the Apostles

TEN ATTACKS OF SATAN TO DESTROY THE CHURCH
In The Book of Acts

  Acts Attempt Result Acts
(1) 2:13 Mocking About 3,000 added that same day    (2:41)
(2) 4:21 Threatening They spoke the Word with boldness   (4:31)
(3) 5:2 Hypocrisy Believers were added - multitudes of men and women   (5:14)
(4) 5:40 Beating They ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ   (5:42)
(5) 6:1 Division The number of disciples multiplied (6:7)
(6) 8:1-2 Persecution They went everywhere preaching the Word (8:4)
(7) 8:18-19 Satanic Influence It was stopped by the Spirit of God (8:23)
(8) 11:2 Division They held their peace and glorified God (11:18)
(9) 12:1-4 Persecution The word of God grew and multiplied (12:24)
(10) 15:1 False Doctrine The churches were established and increased daily (16:5)

After the  “Acts Period”  there were two more great attempts by Satan that could be numbered  #11 and #12 –

(11) Persecution Great persecution by the Caesars for 200 years - but even those by whose hands they died were often converted, and the church grew.
(12) Compromise When Constantine made the state religion a mixture of Christianity and paganism.
This sent the entire world into what is called the "dark ages."  It wasn't until God revealed to Martin Luther that "THE JUST SHALL LIVE BY FAITH" that the light began again to dawn, and ushered in what is referred to regarding knowledge as the "Renaissance" and regarding Christianity as the "Reformation."

It is interesting to note that of all of Satan’s attempts to destroy the Church of the Living God,   the one that came closest to succeeding was COMPROMISE!

BUT GOD IS VICTORIOUS            AND SO IS HIS CHURCH!
