(A Synopsis of the Revelation of Jesus Christ)

The First 6 Seals are opened

While I, Daniel, was watching the vision and trying to understand it, there before me stood one who looked like a man. And I heard a man's voice from the [banks of the] Ulai [river] calling, "Gabriel, tell this man the meaning of the vision."
As he came near the place where I was standing, I was terrified and fell prostrate. "Son of man," he said to me, "understand that the vision concerns the time of the end." While he was speaking to me, I was in a deep sleep, with my face to the ground. Then he touched me and raised me to my feet.
He said: "I am going to tell you what will happen later in the time of wrath, because the vision concerns the appointed time of the end.  ... In the latter part of their reign, when rebels have become completely wicked, a stern-faced king, a master of intrigue, will arise. He will become very strong, but not by his own power. He will cause astounding devastation and will succeed in whatever he does. He will destroy the mighty men and the holy people. He will cause deceit to prosper, and he will consider himself superior. When they feel secure, he will destroy many and take his stand against the Prince of princes. Yet he will be destroyed, but not by human power.
The vision of the evenings and mornings that has been given you is true, but seal up the vision, for it concerns the distant future."
I, Daniel, was exhausted and lay ill for several days. ... I was appalled by the vision; it was beyond understanding.
(Daniel 8:15-27 — NIV)

The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse
These represent, respectively,
(1) War in its aspect of subjecting peoples one to another
(2) War in its aspect of hate between nations and individuals
(3) Inequitable economic distribution (or general scarcity of goods)
(4) The death which results from the first three
war, wild animals = hate
famine = inequitable distribution
disease = plagues

Come and see
As each living creature announced a horse and rider, it said:
ιrchou ( from erchomai )
to come — from one place into another
to go — to follow one
The "and see" was unfortunately added to a few translations for what the translators thought would help the reader to understand.
Translated as By these translations/versions
"Come" or "Come Out" New International Version, Amplified Bible, American Standard Version, New American Standard Bible, New American Standard Bible-Updated, Contemporary English Version, Easy-to-Read Version, English Standard Version, Good News Translation, Holman Christian Standard Bible, New Century Version, New English Translation Bible, New Living Translation, New Testament in Modern Speech, Revised Standard Version, New Revised Standard Version, The Living Bible, The Message, Today's English Version, World English Bible
"Go" or "Go out" Complete Jewish Bible, God's Word Translation
In either case, this was a summons from the living creature for the horse and rider to come forth and go throughout the earth fulfilling God's command as He pours out His wrath.

The four living creatures are connected with the Throne of Judgment. They express the mind, and enact the will of that Throne. Much of its power towards the earth goes out through them. They are the enactors of the judicial energy of Him who sits upon the throne. And it is in this capacity that they speak the word “Come!” And as they speak, so it is. John hears the command, and at once he sees it being carried out.

Revelation 6:1-2

(1)  Now I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals; and I heard one of the four living creatures saying with a voice like thunder, "Come and see."  (2)  And I looked, and behold, a white horse. He who sat on it had a bow; and a crown was given to him, and he went out conquering and to conquer.

1st Seal: White Horse — The Rider was given a Crown — Antichrist making war on the saints

The rider held a bow
The rider had a crown
The rider rode out as conqueror bent on conquest

Matthew 24:4-5
Jesus answered them, Be careful that no one misleads you [deceiving you and leading you into error]. For many will come in (on the strength of) My name [appropriating the name which belongs to Me], saying, I am the Christ (the Messiah), and they will lead many astray.    (AMP)

Matthew 24:23-27
If anyone says to you then, Behold, here is the Christ (the Messiah)! or, There He is! — do not believe it.  For false Christs and false prophets will arise, and they will show great signs and wonders so as to deceive and lead astray, if possible, even the elect (God's chosen ones). See, I have warned you beforehand. So if they say to you, Behold, He is in the wilderness (desert) — do not go out there; if they tell you, Behold, He is in the secret places or inner rooms — do not believe it. For just as the lightning flashes from the east and shines and is seen as far as the west, so will the coming of the Son of Man be.    (AMP)

NOTE: Commentators have been busy identifying the rider of the white horse according to their various theories. "It is tempting to identify him with the Rider on the white horse in Revelation 19:11, whose name is 'the Word of God'" (Swete). Tempting, "but the two riders have nothing in common beyond the white horse.

Revelation 6:3-4

(3)  When He opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature saying, "Come and see."  (4)  Another horse, fiery red, went out. And it was granted to the one who sat on it to take peace from the earth, and that people should kill one another; and there was given to him a great sword.

2nd Seal: Red Horse — Rider was given Power — Conflict on Earth

The rider given power to make men kill each other

Matthew 24:6-7
And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars; see that you are not frightened or troubled, for this must take place, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in place after place;    (AMP)

Revelation 6:5-6

(5)  When He opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, "Come and see." So I looked, and behold, a black horse, and he who sat on it had a pair of scales in his hand.  (6)  And I heard a voice in the midst of the four living creatures saying, "A quart of wheat for a denarius, and three quarts of barley for a denarius; and do not harm the oil and the wine."

3rd Seal: Black Horse — Rider had no power other than to weigh what was —  Scarcity on Earth
The rider had a pare of scales
A voice from among the four living creatures saying:
A quart of wheat for a day's wages
Three quarts of barley for a day's wages
Don't damage the Oil
Don't damage the Wine

Leviticus 26:26

Revelation 6:7-8

(7)  When He opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature saying, "Come and see."  (8)  So I looked, and behold, a pale horse. And the name of him who sat on it was Death, and Hades followed with him. And power was given to them over a fourth of the earth, to kill with sword, with hunger, with death, and by the beasts of the earth.

4th Seal: Pale Horse — The Rider was given power (exousia capacity) — Widespread Death on Earth
The rider was named Death
Hell (the grave) followed close behind
They both had power over one fourth of the earth to:
Kill by Sword
Kill by Famine
Kill by Plague
Kill by the Wild Beasts of the earth

Matthew 24:8
All this is but the beginning [the early pains] of the birth pangs [of the intolerable anguish].

Matthew 24:16-22
Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains; let him who is on the housetop not come down and go into the house to take anything; and let him who is in the field not turn back to get his overcoat. And alas for the women who are pregnant and for those who have nursing babies in those days! Pray that your flight may not be in winter or on a Sabbath. For then there will be great tribulation (affliction, distress, and oppression) such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now — no, and never will be [again]. [Daniel 12:1; Joel 2:2.]  And if those days had not been shortened, no human being would endure and survive, but for the sake of the elect (God's chosen ones) those days will be shortened.     (AMP)

Revelation 6:9-11

(9)  When He opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain for the word of God and for the testimony which they held.  (10)  And they cried with a loud voice, saying, "How long, O Lord, holy and true, until You judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?"  (11)  Then a white robe was given to each of them; and it was said to them that they should rest a little while longer, until both the number of their fellow servants and their brethren, who would be killed as they were, was completed.

5th Seal: Souls under the Alter — The effect on the war with the saints
They cried out:
How long until you judge the inhabitants of the earth?
How long until you avenge our blood?
They were each given a white robe
They were told to wait a little longer until the number of martyrs was completed

Matthew 24:9-10
Then they will hand you over to suffer affliction and tribulation and put you to death, and you will be hated by all nations for My name's sake. And then many will be offended and repelled and will begin to distrust and desert [Him Whom they ought to trust and obey] and will stumble and fall away and betray one another and pursue one another with hatred.

Daniel 7:21-22
As I watched, this horn was waging war against the saints and defeating them, until the Ancient of Days came and pronounced judgment in favor of the saints of the Most High.     (NIV)

Luke 18:7-8
And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? I tell you, he will see that they get justice...     (NIV)

Revelation 6:12-17

(12)  I looked when He opened the sixth seal, and behold, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became like blood.  (13)  And the stars of heaven fell to the earth, as a fig tree drops its late figs when it is shaken by a mighty wind.  (14)  Then the sky receded as a scroll when it is rolled up, and every mountain and island was moved out of its place.  (15)  And the kings of the earth, the great men, the rich men, the commanders, the mighty men, every slave and every free man, hid themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains,  (16)  and said to the mountains and rocks, "Fall on us and hide us from the face of Him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb!  (17)  For the great day of His wrath has come, and who is able to stand?"

6th Seal: A Great Earthquake — The final judgments on Antichrist and his followers
The sun turned black
The moon turned blood red
The Stars fell to the earth
Every mountain was moved
Every island was moved
Everyone on earth tried to hide in caves and rocks of the mountains
Everyone knew the day of the wrath of the Lamb had come

Matthew 24:29-30
Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not shed its light, and the stars will fall from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. [Isaiah 13:10; 34:4; Joel 2:10,11; Zephaniah 1:15.]  Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn and beat their breasts and lament in anguish, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory [in brilliancy and splendor]. [Daniel 7:13; Revelation 1:7.]     (AMP)

Question: Who is the man on the white horse, who has a crown and a bow?
1. Could this be the Lord Jesus who will come on a white horse in Revelation 19:11?
3. This is not war and bloodshed between man and man, for that is the work of the rider of the red horse.
4. It is not about famine and scarcity, for that is the work of the rider on the black horse.
5. Neither is it about pestilence and mortality, for that is the work of the rider on the pale or livid horse.

1. Some interpret this to be the Messiah (the Christ), but this is not He. It is a false Christ, who will establish a temporary peace in the world. What was the first prediction of Matthew 24:5? ‘Many shall come in My name, saying I am Christ
2. Of the four horsemen, only this one has ‘a crown.’ His conquests, therefore, are specifically conquest of the crown-achievements augmentative of heavenly dominion.
3. The color of the horse is ‘white’ which is the color of righteousness, triumph, and peace. If he is to be accepted as the Christ, he must appear (at first, at least) as the true Christ.
4. The picture must then somehow link itself with something that is righteous and good, though it is associated with a judicial proceeding. [Take the mark and live, refuse and die Rev. 13:16, 17]
5. The rider of this horse has ‘a bow.’ This is an instrument of war, but as no literal slaughter connects with this horseman, so it speaks not of the destruction of life, but to a moral effect.
6. And finally note the language employed here, ‘He goes forth conquering and to conquer.’ There is an idea of continuity in the expression. It describes an ongoing work, a continuous one, resulting, along with what else comes upon the scene, in complete and sovereign dominion.

‘And they worshipped the dragon [Satan], which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying 'Who is like unto the beast? Who is able to make war with him?’ (Revelation 13:4)

The first conflict is for the throne of God through the ministry of the beast and false prophet.
